Makom´s Pardes Community

This week our 10th graders had a trip to Jerusalem to receive their national citizenship ID cards (Teudat Zehut). During the day we toured around Meah Shearim neighborhood, the Knesset. We spoke about Israeli society as having many cultures, debating the question of what makes Israeli society one despite the many different sects that make it up? And what do we all have in common? Through these questions our students dealt with the big question of what is the meaning of being a citizen of the State of israel. This provided an important context to the recieval of their ID cards.
